Succulents at South Shore | Milwaukee Wedding - Jess + Taylor
Jess + Taylor
Laid back succulent themed wedding at South Shore
Jess + Taylor threw a laid back Friday wedding at Milwaukee’s South Shore Pavilion and it was uniquely their own. Opting for a day that was true to them, they focused on incorporating food they enjoyed; popsicles, pie, cheese instead of cake, and infusing their succulent theme in any way possible. Each guest received their own succulent mini, Taylor’s tie, as well as many others had cacti + succulents on them, Jess had a hair piece and incredible bouquet made by Posies + Pine, and their ceremony backdrop was made of teardrop succulent terrariums. It was fun and playful to see it brought into different elements throughout the day.
I joined during the getting ready process and hung around has family + friends filtered in and out. Jess’s dress was originally her mothers. Her mom reused the skirt and made her the top - I love that it was separates! She paired the heirloom with rose gold jewelry, moon phase earrings, and sandals. Taylor sported a fitted gray suit and succulent tie that felt so right for June. We met at the beach for a sweet first look and photos along the water. Since they opted to just keep it simple and no bridal party, we wandered South Shore taking photos and hanging out with many of their friends and family. Eventually we made our way inside for a personal ceremony officiated by a longtime roommate of theirs. J+T exchanged some incredible vows, a few laughs + tears, a French 75 and a toast to their new phase in life. The rest of the night was spent mingling with guests, enjoying a huge variety + assortment of appetizers, nachos + tacos from Belair Cantina, several toasts and stories from parents + friends, first dances, hugs, and a room filled with conversation.
